Transitions and Cycles

Spring is nearly at an end, and many big plans have yet to manifest. But even as I strive for a new direction, I find myself returning to familiar tools and memes. But always with a twist. Below is an image I would not have looked at twice a few years ago, but it is a new favorite image because of the aspects that it does not have. Missing are the impression of a large scale, or the use of dramatic lighting; aspects I have looked to include in my images. It is most certainly still a landscape image, but with a quieter voice. I have treated it as "Pictorialist" image with a warm tone and a modest softening of details. I believe this image speaks of gentle waters returning to the vastness of the Pacific Ocean.
